/ International media outlets circulated a strange scene that occurred during the Arab “derby” match between Jordan and Iraq, as part of the Asian Cup competitions, on Monday.

The exciting match ended in Jordan’s favor with a score of 3-2, after “Al-Nashama” scored the winning goals in the 95th and 97th minutes of the match, which the media described as “crazy”, in the round of 16 of the Asian Cup held in Qatar.

The strange shot

The shot was the expulsion of the Iraqi national team striker, Ayman Hussein, due to his “way of celebrating” after scoring the second goal against Jordan.

Ayman Hussein went to act out the gesture of “eating Jordanian Mansaf” on the pitch, which prompted Iranian referee Alireza Faghani to give him a second yellow card and expel him from the match.

Possible reasons for Ayman’s expulsion?

Experts debated the reason for the expulsion, and there appeared to be two possible reasons. The first was that Ayman Hussein was late in celebrating, and repeated several celebrations around the pitch, before performing his celebration by imitating the movement of eating Mansaf. Ghani whistled, asking Ayman to hurry back to the pitch, twice, before expelling him for “late celebration.”

The second likely reason is that Ayman “provoked the fans” and imitated the Jordanian team’s celebration of eating Mansaf, which could inflame the Jordanian fans.

So far, it has not been revealed which of the two reasons was the motivation for Ayman Hussein’s expulsion.

The international press is surprised

The photo of the “expulsion because of Mansaf” was circulated by international newspapers, most notably the Spanish newspaper “AS” and the English website “Sports Bible”, as well as other Asian and European newspapers.

All sports media websites expressed their surprise at the scene and the player being sent off for celebrating, describing it as “a situation that has never been seen before in football stadiums.”

The controversy continues among the Iraqi fans about the expulsion, which they considered an unfair decision against the tournament’s top scorer, and a major cause of the defeat, especially since Jordan’s two goals came after the expulsion.
