Singer Ayu Ting Ting responded to the comments from netizens who were mocking her daughter Bilqis during her performance of “Sheesh” by BabyMonster at an award show on television. Such responses are indeed rare from Ayu Ting Ting.

The singer of “Sambalado” felt that she could not stay silent while her daughter became the target of online bullying. Ayu recounted how she first became aware of the mocking comments directed at Bilqis.

“For me, it doesn’t matter what they say, I don’t really care. It was just that when I was shooting, I wasn’t doing anything. I opened my phone and saw those comments. It must have been from fake accounts, probably kids, who would cry and scream if I caught them,” said Ayu Ting Ting when met in Depok, West Java, yesterday.

According to Ayu Ting Ting, it is only natural for her to feel upset about her child being bullied. Ayu Ting Ting mentioned that such people lack compassion.

“As parents, we feel the heat, it’s human to read such comments. I just poke fun at it. I mean, come on, you mock a child, where is your heart? If you want to mock someone, do it to an adult. But for a child, where is your conscience as a human?” she expressed.

“At least my child at that age can perform. You, when you were that age, would most likely be crying in the corner, sucking your thumb. That’s all, just teasing,” Ayu Ting Ting added while laughing.

Ayu Ting Ting believes that all mothers would agree with her. A mother will be at the forefront of protecting and defending her child.

“Mothers are the highest caste in the world; never go against them. So if mothers are upset, it’s understandable. I never retaliate, but this is a child. Not just Bilqis, whoever the child is, please don’t make them the subject of bullying or insults. Humans usually have feelings,” Ayu Ting Ting emphasized.

Ayu Ting Ting’s reply to the mocking netizens went viral. Ayu Ting Ting didn’t just respond to one mocking comment.

What’s wrong with you? What problem do you have with a child? Come here, if I approach you, you’ll cry hahahaha asking for mercy. You mock a child, where is your heart as a human?” was one of Ayu Ting Ting’s viral responses to mocking netizens.

Ayu Ting Ting’s Response to Online Bullying: A Reflection on Future Trends in Celebrity Parenting and Digital Responsibility

In an era where social media reigns supreme, the responsibility of public figures extends far beyond their achievements in entertainment. A recent incident involving Indonesian singer Ayu Ting Ting highlights a growing concern: the impact of online bullying on children, especially those in the limelight. When her daughter Bilqis was targeted by trolls for her performance at a televised event, Ayu’s heartfelt response stirred discussions about the role of parents and the necessity for digital accountability.

Ayu’s emotional rebuttal to her daughter’s bullies encapsulates a critical trend towards protective parenting in the digital age. As more children take to social platforms, the prevalence of bullying is likely to escalate, prompting parents to become advocates for their children. This shift might lead to a collective push for stricter regulations around online behavior and greater support systems for young performers facing online scrutiny.

Furthermore, Ayu’s assertion regarding the lack of empathy among internet users suggests a need to cultivate digital responsibility. Future trends may focus on enhancing digital literacy, teaching both children and adults the importance of kindness and respect in online interactions. Educational institutions could incorporate programs that address the nuances of cyberbullying, fostering an environment where empathy prevails over negativity.
