The Valencian from the UAE, 19 years old and who premiered his record a week ago in Getxo, has renewed until 2028

It is time for signings in the cycling market, but also for renewals. Juan Ayuso (UAE) was the protagonist yesterday by signing the longest contract in the peloton. Several runners such as Filippo Ganna (Ineos) or Tadej Pogacar (UAE) already had their future tied until 2027, but the Emirati team has gone even further and has renewed its pearl, the 19-year-old Valencian, until December 2028. In other words, his new contract would end when Ayuso is 26 years old.

He is without a doubt one of the great talents to take into account in the short-medium term and the UAE, a hoarder of quality, is aware of this. He debuted with the team jersey in June last year after riding in the Giro Sub-23 and made his debut in Spain with second place in the Clásica de Ordizia, behind Luis León Sánchez in a very tight sprint. He has achieved good positions during these fourteen months, such as fifth and fourth in the general classifications of the Volta Catalunya and Tour de Romandía this year. However, he needed to win. He himself and the people around him in his day-to-day life noticed that suppressed desire to shout and celebrate a victory, which he finally did last Sunday at the Getxo Circuit.

With his first professional victory a weight has been lifted from his shoulders and, although the fans want to see him in the Vuelta a España, Matxin does not want to expose him too much and his debut in a three-week race will have to wait, at least until 2023, in a plan similar to the one followed by Remco Evenepoel in the beginning.
