CJSC “Azerbaijan Airlines” and LLC “Azersun Holding” have launched a joint project called “A cleaner world – a brighter sky!” to improve sustainable development practices and environmental protection on the territory of Heydar Aliyev International Airport, Day.Az reported on Monday with reference to Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
The main objective of this initiative, carried out within the framework of the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World”, is to contribute to the creation of a green, environmentally responsible future by implementing measures aimed at reducing the use of paper resources, stimulating waste recycling and minimizing harmful impacts on the environment.
Initially, special containers for collecting paper waste were installed at the Baku airport, which is the beginning of further steps to create a cleaner and more sustainable environment. The waste paper collected within the framework of the project will be recycled at the Azerbaijan Paper and Cardboard Plant.
It should be noted that the production of waste paper from secondary raw materials pollutes the air up to 73% less than production from primary raw materials. In addition, each ton of recycled paper saves about 17 trees and reduces the amount of waste by 3.3 m3.
We invite everyone to take part and support this important initiative, which will undoubtedly bear fruit in protecting our planet for future generations!
