Azerbaijan’s national air carrier AZAL, in cooperation with the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, presents a new option for travelers to Nakhchivan, Day.Az reported on Monday with reference to Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC.
Passengers can now purchase air tickets to Nakhchivan using their electronic ID card via the mygov app at ticket offices in Baku.
In the near future, this new opportunity will also appear at AZAL ticket offices in Nakhchivan.
Passengers are no longer required to carry physical identification when purchasing an airline ticket. They can provide the necessary information to verify their identity through the mygov app.
According to the relevant Decree signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the provision of necessary identity card data by citizens through the mygov application will be considered equivalent to presenting a physical identity card.
This innovation significantly simplifies the process of purchasing tickets and ensures a high level of data protection in today’s digital world.
