The volume of trade transactions between Azerbaijan and Iran in the period from January to November 2024 amounted to 583.646 million US dollars.
As Day.Az reports with reference to the State Customs Committee, this is $146.43 million, or 33.5 percent more than the same period last year.
Trade turnover with Iran during the reporting period amounted to 1.35 percent of Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade.
Over the 11 months of 2024, Azerbaijan exported products worth $12.87 million to Iran, which is $402 thousand, or 3.03 percent less than the same period in 2023. Exports to Iran amounted to 0.05 percent of Azerbaijan’s total exports.
At the same time, imports from Iran to Azerbaijan over the same period increased by $146.832 million, or 34.6 percent, amounting to $570.776 million. Imports from Iran amounted to 3.04 percent of Azerbaijan’s total imports.
In general, in January-November 2024, Azerbaijan conducted foreign trade worth $43.1 billion, which is $4.2 billion, or 8.9 percent less than in the same period in 2023.
Exports amounted to US$24.3 billion, while imports amounted to US$18.7 billion. Over the year, exports decreased by US$7.1 billion, or 22.8 percent, while imports increased by US$2.9 billion, or 18.7 percent.
As a result of foreign trade, a positive balance was formed in the amount of 5.5 billion US dollars, which is 10.1 billion US dollars, or 2.8 times less than a year earlier.
