Azerbaijan and Türkiye discussed issues of expanding economic partnership, Day.Az reported on Wednesday with reference to Trend.

According to the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, as part of a business visit to Yekaterinburg, First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev met with Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology of Turkey Ahmet Yozgatligil.

It should be noted that the industrial exhibition “Innoprom” is taking place in Yekaterinburg from July 8 to 11.

The meeting emphasized that the partnership between Turkey and Azerbaijan is strengthening in all areas. The possibilities for further expansion of economic relations, including mutual investments, exchange of experience in the field of industry and technology, as well as strengthening cooperation in other areas were discussed.

In addition, the parties noted the importance of ongoing initiatives in the field of industry and high technology to ensure sustainable economic development of both countries.

The meeting also discussed the expansion of trade and economic ties, the participation of Turkish entrepreneurs in new projects being implemented in Azerbaijan, and investments in industrial parks and neighborhoods.

It should be noted that in the first quarter of this year, Azerbaijan’s FDI in the Turkish economy amounted to 40 million US dollars, while Turkey’s FDI in the Azerbaijani economy amounted to 261.4 million dollars.
