Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan can join forces in a new project

Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan may create a joint venture for the production of polypropylene.

As Day.Az reports, an informed source told Trend about this.

“There are prospects for creating a joint venture with SOCAR Polymer for the production of polypropylene and high-density polyethylene in the Khorezm Technopark,” the source said.

As the agency’s interlocutor noted, together with the state oil company of Azerbaijan SOCAR Projects are being developed to produce propylene from methanol, butanediol, polyoxymethylene and other chemical products.

It should be noted that there are 21 enterprises producing chemical products in Uzbekistan (large plants: Navoiazot, Maksam-Chirchik, Fargonazot, Ammophos-Maxam and Dekhkanabad Potash Plant).

Their total production exceeds $1.5 billion, and their export volume is $500 million.

There are over 100 chemical enterprises operating in Azerbaijan. The Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park operates (31 residents, investments – $3.3 billion).
