Azerbaijan invited Serbia to join the project for the transportation of green energy – the Caspian-Black Sea-European Green Energy Corridor.

As reported by Day.Az with reference to Trend, this was announced at a press conference following the meeting of the Azerbaijan-Serbia Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) in Baku by Azerbaijani co-chairman of the IGC Sahil Babayev.

He noted that this issue was among the topics of bilateral negotiations, and Serbia’s participation in the project would be very useful.

During the IGC meeting, Deputy Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Kamal Abbasov noted that work on the “green” energy corridor project is proceeding successfully, and the governments of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary are officially involved in it. “There will be another meeting on this project in Bucharest in September, and a joint venture will be officially created. The feasibility study for the energy corridor will be completed by the end of the year,” he said.

The headquarters of the joint venture will be located in Bucharest and will be established in September 2024.
