Azerbaijan is a very important economic partner for China. In 2023, the volume of trade between Azerbaijan and China increased by 21 percent and approached $2 billion 200 million.
Expert economist Eyyub Karimli told Trend about this on Wednesday, Day.Az reports.
He noted that economic and political ties between the two countries are at a high level.
“According to this year’s data, compared to the corresponding period last year, the volume of trade turnover between China and our country has increased by almost 50 percent. Azerbaijan has been cooperating with China for more than 20 years. Of particular note is the cooperation between the international sea trade port of China and the Baku-Baku railway line. Tbilisi-Kars for transporting goods from China to Europe and back,” the expert said.
He also emphasized cooperation in logistics and transit activities. “China is interested in developing the transport infrastructure of our country, and also shows great interest in the opening of the Zangezur corridor. Thus, the East is interested in increasing China’s trade turnover in the western direction, the speed and quality of cargo transportation. In this regard, Azerbaijan is a very important partner for China “The fact that China ranks fourth among our country’s trading partners shows the level of economic relations between the two countries.
