Azerbaijan is ready to begin supplies of petroleum products to Kyrgyzstan.
As Day.Az reported on Saturday, the Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan Taalaibek Ibraev told the Kyrgyz media about this.
According to him, Azerbaijan occupies one of the leading places among exporters of petroleum products. In the near future, the Junda oil refinery will also begin operating in Kyrgyzstan, which will consume more than 1 million tons of fuel annually.
“In this regard, issues of oil supplies to Kyrgyzstan were discussed with the management of SOCAR. For their part, they are ready to cooperate. We are currently working on the issue of logistics,” the minister emphasized.
Let us recall that on April 24, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the energy sector was signed between the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan.
During the signing, it was noted that the parties seek to develop cooperation in the following areas: joint research and development of oil fields in the territories of both states, trade in oil and petroleum products, as well as cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources and hydropower.
