During her talks with the Speaker of the House of Advisors, Enaam Mayara, Ms. Gafarova, on a working visit to the Kingdom at the head of a large delegation, praised the considerable development that Morocco is experiencing in various fields, highlighting the strength of the political relations uniting the two countries.
According to a statement by the House of Advisors, the Azerbaijani official stressed the importance of redoubling efforts to promote economic cooperation and invest in all the opportunities offered, noting that the two countries are called upon to give new dynamism to their cooperation in the parliamentary field, through the strengthening of dialogue and consultation mechanisms, in the service of issues of common interest.
For his part, Mr. Mayara welcomed this visit which reflects the quality of political relations and the depth of fraternal, cultural and civilizational ties uniting Morocco and Azerbaijan, adding that this meeting takes place in a particular context marked by the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, establishing a fruitful and promising partnership.
In this regard, he recalled the holding of the second session of the joint commission for bilateral cooperation, which was sanctioned by the conclusion of a series of agreements and memoranda of understanding in various fields, thus illustrating the commitment of the two countries to diversify and deepen their cooperation, in accordance with the High Guidelines of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His Excellency the Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev.
After giving detailed explanations on the action of the House of Advisors, its composition and its prerogatives, Mr. Mayara expressed the Chamber’s willingness to accompany the process of developing these bilateral relations and to support them in all initiatives.
He also thanked the Republic of Azerbaijan for “its firm and constant position in favor of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom and its sovereignty over its southern provinces”, affirming Morocco’s continued support for Azerbaijan in various international forums.
This meeting was an opportunity to review the place of the parliamentary institution in the institutional landscape of the two countries, as well as its important role in strengthening bilateral relations, developing parliamentary diplomacy and consolidating relations with regional and continental parliaments.
