Azerbaijani literature in the spotlight at the international exhibition

Azerbaijan is represented at the 76th Frankfurt Book Fair – the leading international exhibition for industry professionals and book lovers, which takes place at Messe Frankfurt from October 16 to 20, the press service of the Ministry of Culture told Day.Az.

Since 1949, the exhibition has become a popular platform for booksellers, authors, publishers and readers to meet colleagues and successful companies. Over 7,500 participants from more than 100 countries will take part in more than 4,000 conferences and panel discussions.

During the organization of the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, our country is also represented with a special stand this year. It should be noted that Azerbaijan has consistently participated in the Frankfurt International Book Fair since 2009. A delegation of domestic writers and publishers headed by the Deputy Minister of Culture Saadat Yusifov takes part in the exhibition. At the national stand with an updated design, visitors are presented with 230 copies of books on the history and culture of Azerbaijan in 125 titles. At our stand, where books on the Xalq Bank – Xalq əmanəti project will also be presented, joint meetings will be held between representatives of the publishing houses TEAS Press, Hədəf Nəşrləri and Qədim Qala, and a presentation of the works of the famous writer will take place Rovshana Abdullaoglupublished in different languages.

Within the framework of the exhibition, the Azerbaijani delegation held a number of business meetings. At a meeting with the director of the Rome National Central Library, Stefano Campagnolo, the representative of Italy recalled with satisfaction his participation in the forum dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan National Library in Baku in September 2023, and emphasized the high organization of the event. During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on deepening cooperation between the libraries of the two countries, exchanging books and implementing joint projects. In addition, on the opening day of the exhibition, business meetings were held with representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and members of the Union of Publishers of Turkey, issues of cooperation in the field of book and publishing were discussed.
