As part of the Days of Azerbaijani Culture, an opening took place at the National Academic Library of Kazakhstan in Astana “Ugolka azerbaijanskoi literatury” (Azerbaijani literature corner)reported Day.Az in the press service of the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan.

A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Library of Azerbaijan. The document was signed by the director of the National Library of Azerbaijan, Honored Cultural Worker, Professor Kerim Tairov and Director of the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gaziza Nurgalievawho after the ceremony took part in the opening of the “Corner of Azerbaijani Literature”, cutting a symbolic red ribbon.

Kerim Tairov noted that the “Corner of Azerbaijani Literature” presents publications about the current successes of Azerbaijan, the glorious victory of the Azerbaijani army under the leadership of the President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev in the 44-day Patriotic War, about the modern development of the country, as well as books about culture and literature. In total, more than 250 books are presented. It was noted that in 2019, with the participation of Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva, the “Kazakh Literature Corner” was inaugurated at the National Library of Azerbaijan.

Gaziza Nurgaliyeva spoke about the fruitful cooperation with the National Library of Azerbaijan since 2003. The speakers emphasized the importance of expanding ties between the two libraries and assessed the opening of the “Corner of Azerbaijani Literature” in the National Library of Kazakhstan as a significant event. Secretary of the Writers’ Union of Azerbaijan Ilgar Fahmi and poet and essayist Farid Hussein were awarded honorary membership certificates of the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan. At the end, the event participants tasted national cuisine and got acquainted with the publications presented in the “Azerbaijani Literature Corner”.
