Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed Azhar Mahmood as the head coach for the New Zealand series. The former all-rounder was appointed on Monday (April 8).
Azhar Mahmood has been appointed as head coach for the upcoming series against New Zealand, PCB said in a statement.
Pakistan will play five T20 matches against New Zealand. The matches will be played on April 18, 20 and 21 in Rawalpindi. The last two T20Is will be held in Lahore on April 25 and 27.
Azhar played 164 international matches for Pakistan. Got 162 wickets. Scored 2 thousand 421 runs.
Azhar Mahmood served as bowling coach for Pakistan for three years before being appointed as head coach. He served as bowling coach from 2016 to 2019.
Meanwhile, former pacer Wahab Riaz has been appointed as the team’s senior team manager. Besides, former captain Mohammad Yusuf has appointed Saeed Ajmal as batting coach and bowling coach.
