RIO DE JANEIRO (Reuters) – Azul (BVMF:) recorded growth of 8.1% in consolidated passenger traffic in March compared to the same month last year, while capacity increased by 9.4% on the same basis of comparison.

With such performance, the occupancy rate of the company’s flights was 77.8% last month, compared to 78.7% a year earlier.

“In March, the strong corporate revenue of the post-Carnaval period led us to reach the highest RASK of the quarter. In the month we also reached an important milestone with the launch of our expanded network at Congonhas airport, in the center of São Paulo. More than that we have doubled our operation to 96 daily flights, serving the largest corporate destinations and offering alternative routes”, said in a note the CEO of Azul, John Rodgerson.
