B. Obama appeared at the Democratic convention: “America is ready for a new phase”

by times news cr

“America is ready for a new phase. America is ready for a better story. We are ready for President Kamala Harris,” Obama told a cheering crowd in Chicago.

“Kamala Harris is up for the job. This is a man who has spent his entire life fighting for people who need a voice and an intercessor,” the former president said.

“Yes, she can,” Obama said of Harris, prompting the boisterous crowd to chant the phrase over and over, recalling his own campaign slogan, “Yes, we can.”

His wife and former first lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, told the convention attendees that “there is something magically wonderful in the air.”

“It’s the contagious power of hope,” she said, calling Harris “my girl” and adding that hope, another slogan of her husband’s successful 2008 campaign, was “coming back.”

Mr. Obama also intensified his criticism of his successor, Republican Donald Trump, who is running against Mr. Harris for the White House.

“Here’s a 78-year-old billionaire who hasn’t stopped whining about his problems since he rode down his golden escalator nine years ago. “It’s a constant stream of grievances and grievances that have really escalated now because he’s afraid of losing to Kamala,” Obama said. – We don’t need another four years of self-praise, nonsense and chaos. We’ve seen that movie and we all know the sequel is usually worse.”
