New Delhi: The Bombay High Court has directed Baba Ramdev’s company Patanjali Ayurved Ltd. to deposit Rs 50 lakh in a trademark violation case. The court has issued this order for violation of the interim order of the court. The court had banned Patanjali from selling and advertising camphor-related products. This ban was imposed after hearing the petition of Mangalam Organic Limited. The company had claimed in the petition that Patanjali has sold its own products despite the court order. After looking at the affidavit of Patanjali, Justice Riyaz Chagla found that it has disregarded the court’s order of August 30, 2023, which cannot be tolerated. Therefore, Patanjali should deposit Rs 50 lakh in the court. The court has scheduled the next hearing of the case on July 19. Earlier, Patanjali director Rajneesh Mishra had filed an affidavit in the court regarding the matter. In this he had apologized unconditionally and assured to follow the court’s order. According to the affidavit, camphor products worth Rs 49,57,861 were supplied after the court’s ban.
