The main competition of the fourth stage will take place on Saturday and Sunday, but already on Friday the athletes will participate in the Nations Cup, which is also a qualification for the weekend matches.
“We will start in Sigulda with almost a full team. Krasts was injured in Lillehammer and will not be able to start in Sigulda, the new partner will be junior Babris. It is not known when Lukas will be able to return and if he will participate in the world championship that will be held in a month,” said Vasks.
11 athletes from the Latvian team will compete in the Nations Cup, including juniors. “The young aspirants are training together with us. At the moment they are still struggling with the track, but it will be a good baptism of fire for them,” said the coach of the luge sports team, Mārtiņš Rubenis.
In the 2024/2025 season, the World Cup stages will still take place in Germany, South Korea and China. The sixth stage on January 18 and 19 at the German track in Winterberg will also be the European Championship. On the other hand, the world championship will take place on the Whistler track in Canada from February 6 to 8.
