After tests canceled in 2020, very limited in 2021, shifted to 2022, here are the dates of the 2023 baccalaureate calendar. all students and parents on the proper conduct of exams.
The reform of the Bac since the 2021 session for the general and techno series has eliminated the ES, S, L… streams in favor of a common core and multiple specialties, fewer written final tests… replaced by more continuous monitoring (throughout the year), and finally: the introduction of a 20-minute long oral.
Pupils will take a total of four written tests: the French baccalaureate test at the end of the first year. And at the end of terminale, the students will pass the writings of the two specialties in March, then the traditional test of the bac philo in June. The continuous assessment tests for the general and technological baccalaureate take place throughout the year (the common continuous assessment tests – eg common assessments and E3C – are totally and definitively abandoned).
The calendar of final exams for the 2023 baccalaureate (General and Techno series) in terminale
Monday 20, Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 March 2023: Specialty written tests (duration from 3h30 to 4h for writing). Classes suspended for 3 days for 1st and 2nd year students depending on the availability of the establishments, see here the detailed schedule of specialty tests. For the first time, the marks for these tests will be included in the candidates’ Parcoursup file.
Wednesday, June 14, 2023: date du bac philo 2023 – written philosophy test (From 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. – 4 hours)
From Monday June 19 to Friday June 30: possible dates of the test Grand oral (20 minutes – call to come to specify your appointment)
Dates of the French baccalaureate for the first
From June 19 to June 30, 2023: oral exams of the French baccalaureate for first year students (20 minutes – invitation to come to specify your appointment)
Thursday, June 15, 2023: written tests of french baccalaureate (From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. – 4 hours)
The marks obtained in these final exams (as well as in the French tests which remain in first class), will represent 60% of the final mark – and 40% for the continuous assessment tests which will take place throughout the year. will be organized by the students’ usual teachers.
Bac results from July 4th.
THE baccalaureate results 2023, for academies in mainland France, will be unveiled on Tuesday July 4, 2023 (from 8:30 a.m.). All the academies will publish at the same time (in the morning) the results (grades, mentions…) for the 3 routes: general, techno and pro. After chaotic years of reform, the results of the Bac 2023 will be eagerly awaited.
Resit oral tests
THE remedial tests (orals of the second group) as well as the professional baccalaureate control test will take place in all the academies the day after the results: from Wednesday July 5 to Friday July 7, 2023 inclusive. The results of these remedial tests will be posted on the evening of each day.
Bac pro 2023: dates of the professional series baccalaureate
The final exams of the Bac pro – not affected by the 2021 reform of the Bac – will take place between May 23 and June 24, 2022
The written tests for the vocational baccalaureate examination are scheduled on mardi 13, Wednesday 14, Thursday June 15, Friday June 16, and from Monday June 19 to Friday June 23, 2023. for the Metropolis and all the overseas academies.
For the Metropolis: the written tests of the general area will take place respectively:
– the Tuesday, June 13, 2023 for the French test (9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.) and history-geography and civic education (2 p.m. – 4 p.m.);
– the Wednesday, June 14, 2023 for the prevention, health and environment test (9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.) and economics-law or economics-management (2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. or 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.).
– the Thursday, June 15, 2023 for those of applied arts and artistic cultures (10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.);
– the Thursday, June 22, 2023 for those in modern languages A (as far as possible, the written part and the oral part will take place on the same day);
– the Friday, June 23, 2023 for those in modern languages B (as far as possible, the written part and the oral part will take place on the same day).

Calendars specific to each specialty of the vocational baccalaureate will be the subject, as every year, of a special letter from the general directorate of school education. The dates of the oral and practical tests are fixed by the rectors, in each academy.
September session for candidates unable to attend
All candidates who were unable to take the June tests because they were, for example: sick, hospitalized, contact case or suffering from Covid-19 will be able to take the replacement tests in September (Thursday 7 and Friday 8 September and from Monday September 11 to Wednesday September 13 – Friday September 8, 2023 for the anticipated written tests). Provided you produce an official document from the Regional Health Agency or Health Insurance. These students will keep their Parcoursup registration file until the final announcement of the results.
A Parcoursup calendar aligned with that of the baccalaureate
The Parcoursup post-baccalaureate admission procedure will be aligned with these tests to avoid adding the stress of the tests to the stress of the orientation:
Wednesday January 18: opening of the platform and entry of wishes
Wednesday, March 8 : end of formulating wishes on Parcoursup
Thursday April 6 : deadline for confirmation of wishes made
Between Thursday, June 1, 7 p.m. and July 7 : responses to wishes (admission phase)
