►A degree in religious sciences in Toulouse

On September 14, the Catholic Institute of Toulouse inaugurated the first Higher Institute of Religious Sciences (ISSR) outside Paris. Attached to the Faculty of Theology, it will allow you to prepare – in three years – a license in religious sciences recognized at European level (and to obtain a canonical baccalaureate recognized by the Holy See). His vocation? “To help Christians better understand how faith can apply to contemporary challenges and to play an active role within their community.” But also allow them “to engage in constructive dialogue with other believers and non-believers and to help them make informed decisions in their personal, professional and social lives”.

► An online bachelor of theology

The Catholic University of Louvain and Domuni Universitas, the online university of the Dominicans, offer a bachelor’s degree in theology. Courses and seminars are shared between professors from the two universities. The training can be carried out completely remotely, or with certain face-to-face courses, at the Faculty of Theology of Louvain-la-Neuve, for students who wish. As a result, the training is compatible with other professional or family commitments.

► “Humanism and politics: thinking and living commitment”

The Sèvres Center, Civic Spirit, the Catholic University of Lille (ETHICS) and the Campus de la Transition are renewing their partnership this year for the university diploma “Humanism and politics: thinking and living commitment”. The training cycle is developed in four sessions of three consecutive days, rotating in the different school sites. The training is made up of teaching in the human and social sciences, interventions by committed witnesses, debates and group workshops or personal discernment in the Ignatian tradition to reflect on one’s social and political commitment. It is aimed at students and professionals, anyone wishing to realize or deepen a social and/or civic commitment.

► “Announce and transmit”

The Center Sèvres (Jesuit Faculties of Paris) is inaugurating a new university degree this year “Announce and transmit” in partnership with the Ignatian Center for Educational Studies (CEP-I). Spread over two years, this training is aimed at those responsible for pastoral animation in Catholic establishments. It aims to give them tools to support young people and adults around their establishment on their journey of faith. The lessons focus on Ignatian spirituality and pedagogy, on the pastoral animation of students, on the institutional aspect of the world of education and on theology.

► “A little wisdom, at the end! »

The philosopher Fabrice Hadjadj inaugurates a new Mooc with the Collège des Bernardins, entitled “A little wisdom at the end!” ». The philosopher, writer and playwright offers lessons accessible 100% online, intended for all audiences and free. For thirty minutes a week over six weeks, from October 16, 2023 to January 27, 2024, Fabrice Hadjad explores the notion of wisdom through science, philosophy and theology, and wants to restore a place for hope in an era that seems gloomy.

► Ethics “Care and health in a pluralist society”

The university degree in ethics“Care and health in a pluralistic society. Accompany, discern, decide” is a co-creation of the Catholic Institute of Paris (ICP) and the Center Sèvres, accessible on the online course platform Theological. This training is aimed at health professionals. It offers resources so that they can form their own discernment and act consistently with their faith in complex situations. The course provides anthropological, philosophical and theological benchmarks and opens the debate on sensitive questions of bioethics.
