Dubai: Dubai Municipality has allocated 1,553 food items for schools before the start of the new academic year. The food items were allotted to companies that supply food products to schools. The Municipality will ensure that educational institutions serve only approved foods produced by Dubai Municipality licensed establishments.

Schools have also been directed to appoint an officer to ensure proper food safety practices. Dubai Municipality has a comprehensive food safety plan for educational institutions. The aim of the project is to ensure that students have access to safe and nutritious food that is appropriate for their age and improves their eating habits.
