The Midrash states that in the last generation before the coming of the Messiah, when the time comes to start wars between nations to expedite the coming of the Messiah, God supposedly forces nations to make wars, and puts in their hearts to make wars not according to reason, and now we are in this period In the time of the ropes of Messiah which is a difficult time.
