jpnn.comJAKARTA – Executive Director of the Indonesian Survey and Polling (SPIN) Igor Dirgantara said that it is increasingly difficult for former Majalengka Regent Karna Sobahi to participate in the 2024 Pilkada.

According to Igor, this was after Karna’s son, namely the Head of BKPSDM Majalengka, Irfan Nur Alam, was previously named a suspect in alleged corruption by the West Java High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati Jabar).

Therefore, Igor said that with the corruption case that ensnared his son, public trust in Karna would decrease.

“Of course the family corruption case will have an impact on Karna Sobahi’s electability as the incumbent,” said Igor, in his statement, Friday (2/8).

Igor said the impact of corruption committed by his son was believed to affect electability and public trust.

According to him, this will have a big impact on the Majalengka Pilbup event.

“The biggest obstacle will be the public’s attention to the Cigasong Market corruption case which has dragged his own son, Irfan Nur Alam, who has been named a suspect and is being held at Kebonwaru Prison, Bandung City,” he said.

Igor believes that the people are smart in choosing leaders who are clean and have integrity.
