(Ovis Kayani) Another burden has been prepared for the people suffering from inflation, Nepra has approved the government’s request to increase the basic electricity tariff by Rs 7.12.
Household consumers with up to 200 units per month have been exempted from the increase for 3 months, the basic electricity tariff for the rest of the household consumers will increase to Rs 7.12 per unit. The decision to increase the tariff has been sent to the federal government for notification, the basic tariff per unit of electricity for domestic consumers will be up to 48 rupees 84 paise.
The monthly tariff from 201 to 300 units will increase by Rs.7.12 to Rs.34.26. .78 will be Rs., the monthly tariff of 601 to 700 units will be increased by Rs. 6.12 to Rs. 43.92, the monthly tariff of more than 700 units will be increased by Rs. 6.12 to Rs. 48.84.
The tariff price per unit will increase according to the tax-free slab, for Lifeline customers up to 50 units per month will remain at Rs 3.95 per unit, for Lifeline customers from 51 to 100 units per month will remain at Rs 7.74 per unit. The federal government had filed an application with Nepra for a uniform electricity tariff to issue a notification to increase the base price.
