(ANSA) – ROME, SEPTEMBER 19 – In Castel Bolognese the water has reached the city center, but also in Forlì and in other municipalities of Emilia Romagna near the rivers in flood after the heavy rains today the water has exceeded the banks and threatens the residential centers. The Prefect of Ravenna has reported that 800 people have been evacuated and have taken refuge in various reception centers made available. The mayors of the area have issued appeals to the population recommending to stay on the upper floors, avoid basements and garages, avoid moving except in cases of extreme necessity and to follow the instructions of the fire brigade and civil defense, leaving, if necessary, the homes at risk. “The river has flooded and we are monitoring the situation carefully. The water is coming towards the center of Castel Bolognese, but all the necessary measures have been put in place to protect citizens – wrote Mayor Luca Della Godenza on Facebook. In a video, the Mayor explains the seriousness of the situation, underlining its unpredictability and provides useful information for everyone’s safety, inviting people to call the emergency numbers 115, 112 or 118 in case of need.
