The second dead in Lemnos due to the bad weather that affected the island.
A seventy-year-old man fell in Kontias, and fatally injured his head while cleaning the steps of his house, on which he slipped.
He was taken to Myrina Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Earlier, the men of the Fire Service found the 57-year-old man who was wanted by his family dead, as he had not shown any signs of life since the bad weather started on Saturday morning.
As it became known, the 57-year-old was lost in the area of the Kontias dam, which was flooded. Police sources said the 57-year-old man drowned when he was swept away by the rapids while trying to free his car from the mud, in a torrent where he was trapped.
His stable was 200 meters from the scene. When his car got stuck in the mud, he went to the barn, got his tractor and tried to pull it, which led to the tragic incident.
A 112 message called shortly after 7 pm in Lemnos asked the residents of the area to evacuate the settlement of Kontias.

Simultaneously occurring, at 22.15 the airport-Tsairi road was closed because the water level was dangerous.

The Emergency Weather Bulletin issued on (29/11) 12:00 has been updated and remains valid according to the latest forecast data.
More specifically, the bad weather system called Bora, which is due to a barometric low in the Ionian Sea that moves slowly to the east, is causing bad weather in our country with rain and storms that will be strong in places until monday (02/12).
At the same time, strong winds and local storms will prevail, and in the west of Macedonia and in the mountains of Epirus and in the rest of Macedonia, heavy snow will fall.
In more detail, provision is made for the following:
Heavy rain and storms
In the center and east of Macedonia and Thrace until the hours of Monday morning (2-12-24).
It has been reported that in the center of Macedonia (and mainly in the prefectures of Halkidiki, Thessaloniki, Pieria, Imathia and Pella) the phenomena from today Saturday (30-11-24) in the afternoon to Sunday evening (1- 12-). 24 ) to be notably severe.

according to the Fire Department, from 11 am to 9:30 on Saturday night, 294 calls were made to its operating center, related to transporting people, cutting down trees and pumping water.
In Central Macedonia, 145 calls have been made so far:

On the island of Lemnos 76 calls have been made so far:

– 19 transporting people to safe places
