A woman has died due to inclement weather in Tumbangeni 40 village under Wellaveli Police Division of Batticaloa District.
The Divisional Village Sevak said that Nagamani Bhumalar, a resident of Periyakallar Main Road, has been identified as the deceased.
According to local residents, he got off the bus from Periyakallar to the 40th village yesterday evening (08) and fell down while walking along Mayana road.
The dead body has been recovered as people who visited the area this morning saw the dead body and reported it to the Divisional Village Sevak.
The police said that the woman may have died due to the prevailing cold and rainy weather.
The Vellaveli Police who went to the area visited the dead body and are conducting further investigations in this regard.
