The world’s 4th ranked badminton men’s doubles pair of Seo Seung-jae and Kang Min-hyuk (both Samsung Life Insurance) won the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour Super 500 ‘2024 Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships’.

Seo Seung-jae and Kang Min-hyeok won the men’s doubles final at the tournament held at the Hong Kong Coliseum in Kowloon, Hong Kong on the 15th, beating Indonesia’s Savar Gutama-Mo Isfahani (ranked 22nd in the world) 2-0 (21-13 21-17) to lift the trophy.

Seo Seung-jae and Kang Min-hyeok, who unfortunately failed to win a medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics after falling short in the quarterfinals, achieved consecutive feats of winning the Hong Kong Open today, following their runner-up finish at the BWF World Tour Super 750 Japan Open last month and the Korea Open earlier this month.

Seo Seung-jae and Kang Min-hyuk established themselves as the stars of badminton men’s doubles after winning the Badminton World Championships held in Copenhagen, Denmark in August last year.

It has been eight months since they won the India Open in January, beating the world number two pair of Satwikhairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty.

The women’s doubles players who participated in this competition also won bronze medals.

World No. 2 Lee So-hee (Incheon International Airport) – Baek Ha-na (MG Saemaul Geumgo) and the ‘Kim Kong Duo’ Kim So-young (Incheon International Airport) – Kong Hee-yong (Jeonbuk Bank) were ranked No. 3 in women’s doubles.
