‘Shuttlecock Queen’ Ahn Se-young (22, Samsung Life Insurance) made a clean start toward the gold medal with a complete victory in her first match at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

An Se-young won 2-0 (21-15 21-11) against Kalojana Nalvantova (Bulgaria) in the first preliminary match of Group A of the women’s singles at the Paris Olympics held at the Porte de La Chapelle Arena in Paris, France on the afternoon of the 28th (Korean time).

An Se-young, who won the first match easily, will advance to the tournament if she defeats Qi Xuefei (France) in the second group match to be held at 2:30 AM on August 1st.

The women’s singles group stage will feature three players in each group, with the top player from each group advancing to the round of 16.

The men’s doubles pair of Kang Min-hyeok and Seo Seung-jae (both Samsung Life Insurance) defeated the pair of Christo Popov and Thomas Junior Popov (France) 2-0 (21-17 21-15) to secure their second consecutive win.
