/ Dozens of sports fans gathered in Tahrir Square in central Baghdad on Wednesday to watch the match between the Iraqi national team and its Vietnamese counterpart, as part of the Asian Cup. However, the Baghdad Municipality disappointed them by not installing a giant screen to broadcast the match.

Agency’s lens accompanied the audience as they chanted in support of the “Lions of Mesopotamia”, but the Baghdad Municipality did not provide the screen it promised to install in Tahrir Square to broadcast the match, which started at exactly 2:30 p.m.

The public expressed their dissatisfaction with the Baghdad Municipality’s failure to fulfill its promise, and no clarification was issued by the municipality’s officials regarding the issue.

The Iraqi national football team is playing its last match in the group stage of the Asian Cup, after securing qualification to the round of 16 following its victory over the Indonesian and Japanese national teams.
