Bahrain: The largest Catholic church in Bahrain is getting ready for inauguration. The shrine is being built on a site donated by the ruler of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa. The inauguration and consecration of Our Lady of Arabia Cathedral in the name of the Mother of God will take place on December 9 and 10. The mosque will also be the center of the Northeastern Apostolic Vicarage, which includes Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Various leaders will arrive in Bahrain tomorrow for the inauguration. Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, President of the Evangelical Church, will represent the Pope. The event will be attended by the Apostolic Vicar of Southern Arabia and Bishop Paul Hinder, Administrator of the Vicarage of Northern Arabia. The memento, which symbolizes the warm relationship between the Vatican and Bahrain, will be exchanged between the two countries.

The church is located 20 km from Manama. The cathedral and the vicarage’s headquarters are located on 9,000 square meters of land donated by the King of Bahrain. The church is being built to accommodate 2,300 believers. Chapels have been built on both sides of the church. And the need to park the vehicles of those arriving at the church.
