The Bahraini Foreign Ministry has confirmed that an IDF officer will be stationed in the country on a regular basis, the Bahrain State News Agency reported last night (Saturday).
Ganz signed a security agreement with his Bahraini counterpart. Beyond the symbolism, it will allow for cooperation and strengthen the strategic alliance with the Arab states in the Middle East, against the background of the Iranian threat. It can be estimated that the public visit, which two years ago looked like a science fiction film, would not have happened without Saudi approval. @roysharon11 Reported from Manama pic.twitter.com/i5CIVhYwN6

Last week, Defense Minister Bnei Gantz visited Bahrain and signed with his counterpart in the country, Abdullah bin Hassan Al-Naimi, on a security cooperation agreement between Bahrain and Israel. During his visit to the country, he met with King Hemed bin Issa bin. Ganz emphasized to the king the “importance of the intimate dialogue between the countries, and the deepening of relations and cooperation in the defense of the common interests,” the Defense Ministry statement said.
The agreement between the countries was announced by the Ministry of Defense after the visit: “One year after the signing of the agreements between Avraham, Israel and Bahrain, they will officially establish security relations between them. According to Ganz, “The cooperation is a continuation of the historic Abrahamic agreements and the developing relations between the peoples and the people. The agreement will enable extensive cooperation and strengthen the security of the two countries and the stability of the entire region.”
