This continuation of the “Baki” universe promises a brutal showdown between legendary fighters and a resurrected swordsman.

The new series picks up after the intense parent-child battle, introducing Miyamoto Musashi, brought back to life through advanced science, as the ultimate challenge for Baki and Yujiro Hanma.

Announced at the “Next On Netflix 2026” presentation on January 27th, the release of “Bakido” comes alongside the streaming giant’s exclusive distribution of the entire “Baki” saga, from “Baki” to “Hanma Baki: The Strongest Parent-Child Fight on Earth.” The newly released visual showcases Musashi wielding his sword, poised for battle, surrounded by Baki, Yujiro, Rekkaio, Doppo Guchi, and Goki Shibukawa—a visual testament to the raw power and unwavering spirit of these legendary fighters.

The production of “Bakido” boasts a talented team. Keisuke Itagaki’s original work, “Bakido” (published by Akita Shoten’s “Shonen Champion Comics”), is brought to life under the supervision of Toshiki Hirano, with series composition by Tatsuhiko Urahata. Shingo Ishikawa handles character design, while Yasushi Moriki and Masahiro Sugiyama are responsible for prop design. Seiko Akashi and Sachiko Keigasawa serve as art directors, with Seiko Akashi also handling art setting. Hiromi Miyawaki is the color designer, and Tatsuo Noguchi directs the photography. Yuriko Sano handles editing, Yasuyuki Urakami oversees sound, with sound production by AUDIO PLANNING U and sound effects by Masahiro Shoji (Fizz Sound Creation). The music is composed by Kenji Fujisawa (Team-MAX), and TMS Entertainment handles the animation production, under the Bakido Production Committee.
