Representatives of the Land Transport Agency and the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan visited the border checkpoints of Sadarak and Turkish Diluja.
As the Agency reported to Day.Az on Monday, during the on-site meetings, they became familiar with the rules for accepting cargo vehicles, organizing queues, inspecting cargo vehicles and processing documents at checkpoints.
“It was noted that queues are organized electronically. The involvement of vehicles for inspection is carried out through an automated risk analysis system that works with machine recognition algorithms based on artificial intelligence, which creates conditions for rapid border crossing by cargo vehicles, flexible customs clearance due to preliminary data processing.
It was noted that the infrastructure of the Sadarak checkpoint meets the highest requirements and provides round-the-clock uninterrupted service through 6 entries and exits.
During the meeting with the Turkish side, the need was noted to improve the infrastructure of the Diluju checkpoint, which currently has 3 entries and exits, to increase capacity and synchronize with the Sadarak checkpoint. The Turkish side noted that work in this direction will begin in the near future. It was emphasized that with the same capacity of both points in one direction, 400-450 trucks can be transported daily.
During the meetings, it was noted that the Sadarak and Diluju border checkpoints play an important role in international transport along the South-West route, and an agreement was reached to continue joint efforts to increase capacity,” the Agency said in a statement.
