As part of the third international Baku Piano Festival, an interesting synthesis of a theatrical production and a concert by Honored Artist Shahin Novrasli with Shahin Novrasli Trio was presented, Day.Az reports.
Over the years of his successful career as a pianist, Shahin Novrasli has created his own individual style. Its main features are virtuosity, masterful transitions with changing dynamics, temperament, expressiveness, organicity and compositional unity. Shahin Novrasli’s performance ideally combines the traditions of the West and the East, his improvisations of jazz, European classical music, blues and folk music are distinguished by magical polyphony and fiery rhythm. Each note is not played mechanically, but flows into the harmonious choir of a beautiful composition. This is the magic of his improvisation, harmonious, beautiful, magical and memorable.
The trio of Shain Novrasli together with the Brazilians – Luciano Vasconcelos da Silva (bass guitar) and Isaac Jamba (drums) presented a bright improvisational program of the evening. And the culmination was the experimental interactive performance “A Cozy Place in the Park”, staged by director Tarlan Rasulov based on the stories of the Azerbaijani classic Maksud Ibragimbekov “A Cozy Place in the Park”, “Pistachio Tree” and “Farewell, Milady!”
The author of the dramatization is Ismail Iman. The roles in the play were performed by honored artists Elshan Rustamov and Melek Abaszade, with musical accompaniment by Shain Novrasli.
Although these works were written several decades ago, they still retain their relevance due to their anti-war theme. At the same time, the themes of old Baku, the continuity of generations and the solidarity of the Azerbaijani people, capable of coping with any trials even in the most difficult conditions, run like a red line in all three stories.
The musical magic combined with emotional expression was marked by generous applause from the audience. The evening became one of the most memorable events of the festival.
Baku Piano Festival is not only a magical performance of virtuosos on piano and keyboard instruments, it is, first of all, a luxurious atmosphere that will inspire and enchant the most demanding music lovers, giving bright emotions.
