Boromo, (AIB) – Technical agents of the veterinary services together with the Boromo municipal police seized 155 kg of spoiled fish unfit for consumption and sales establishments without legal documents were arrested on Monday December 16, 2024 in Boromo during joint control and inspection. a mission overseen by the president of the special delegation, Esaïe Bamogo, and the provincial director of Agriculture, Animal Resources and Fisheries, Rokia KY. The seized fish was cremated in the presence of the owners’ representative, AIB learnt.

According to the president of the Boromo special delegation, Esaïe Bamogo, the mission was to control and inspect fish selling establishments in Boromo town. The objective was to ensure the quality, hygiene and compliance with veterinary regulations on consumer fish products on sale, he said.

To that end, technical agents from the veterinary services supported by the municipal police checked several fish sales points. According to the services report, the results of the operation were the seizure and incineration of 155 kg of spoiled fish that were unfit for consumption.

Also, veterinary service agents reported the lack of sanitation and hygiene for sales establishments. Twenty-three (23) owners of undocumented sales establishments were invited to obtain the marketing license. The seizure was destroyed in the presence of a representative, the owners adhere to the text.

The President of the special delegation invited consumers to be vigilant and report suspicious cases regarding the quality of consumer products to the competent services. Also, he asked traders to be morally aware of the quality of the products they offer to consumers.
