Balloons floating in the Capitol: Republicans mock Biden’s response to the Chinese spy balloon affair

by time news

Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Green brought a helium balloon with her tonight (Wednesday) to the Capitol building, in order to mock President Joe Biden for his reaction to the Chinese spy balloon.

Green said it was “just an innocent white balloon” in a video she posted on Twitter, which also showed her walking around the Capitol holding the balloon. In an interview with Fox News, Green said she brought the balloon to work because the Chinese spy balloon incident is “the first thing” Biden should address in his speech, which took place tonight.

Green said: “This thing that he needs to take care of – hovers over me. The American people are still very upset and scared that the President of the United States allowed China to fly a spy balloon around our country. In fact, they knew about it on January 28th. The president knew about it. The Pentagon knew about it.

But they allowed China to put their spy balloon into our airspace, cross the entire country, spy on our military in military bases, in food factories, in cities, around all our infrastructure – before it left the country, and only finally did they shoot it down. This is what the Americans still have in mind.”

It should be noted that American intelligence estimates that the Chinese spy balloon is part of an extensive spy fleet that has carried out more than 20 spy missions over five different continents over the past few years.
