/ The Disciplinary Committee of the Iraqi Football Association met on Saturday to discuss the refusal of two players (Akhlat Asaad Mustafa and Awaz Younis Muhammad) to join the Iraqi women’s national team to participate in the West Asian Championship in Saudi Arabia, under the pretext of the lack of approval from their club (Dohuk Girl).

The Disciplinary Committee said in a statement received by Agency, “Despite the attempts of the head of the delegation and the coaching staff to convince them to join the national team, they did not respond, due to the incitement and threats to cut their salaries by the Secretary of the Kurdistan Union, Sirwan Najman, the coach of the North Oil Club, and the Dohuk girl, Mazen Mohammed, and because the national team’s participation in the tournament is a national mission and a sacred duty that everyone must respect, and personal interest must not prevail over the national interest.”

The committee continued that, for all of the above, the committee decided:

1. Punishing the two players, (Akhlat Asaad Mustafa) and (Awaz Younis Muhammad), by banning them from playing for one year, with a fine of two million dinars for each of them, based on the provisions of Article (13/10) of the Competitions Regulations for the Iraqi Indoor and Outdoor League.

2. Regarding the violation of both the coach (Mazn Muhammad) and (Sirwan Najm), the matter is left to the Women’s Committee to take appropriate penalties against them based on the provisions of Article (35) of the Competitions Regulations for the Iraqi League for Halls and Open Arenas.
