The ban on tourists bathing at Tirprappu Falls was lifted today after two days. Thus the tourists who come here are happy.
Due to the continuous rains in Kumari district, the water level of Tirappur Falls, a major tourist attraction in the district, has increased. Due to the rains, the water level of the 48-foot-high Talking Rock Dam exceeded 45 feet and 1000 cubic feet of flood water was discharged from the dam yesterday. Due to this, the water in the waterfall splashed. Due to the safety of the tourists coming to the falls, the administration of the municipality imposed a ban on tourists bathing in the falls from yesterday.
Thus the tourists who came there were disappointed. Similarly, tourists visiting other tourist destinations in the district also avoid coming here. At this stage, the southwest monsoon in the district was receding slightly and the town of Kodaiyar started discharging water from the Pechipparai dam for canal irrigation, completely stopping the overflow from the dam.
Due to this the amount of water coming into the waterfall was less. Thus, from today, tourists will be allowed to bathe in all parts of the falls. So the tourists who came here are happy. Traders are also happy with the increase in tourist arrivals here.
