The Association of Ecuadorian Banana Exporters (AEBE) is preparing for its XX International Convention, Banana Time 2023, a meeting that brings together representatives of the country’s banana value chain at the Hilton Colón Hotel in Guayaquil.
Marianela Ubilla, president of AEBE, indicated in an interview with EL PRODUCTOR that the event, which will take place from October 24 to 27, is aimed at both industry experts and all people who are interested in promoting development. and the revitalization of the fruit, he also highlighted that this year they hope to be able to reach more international markets.
The meeting will bring together prominent national and international exponents of the sector, in order to exchange knowledge and be part of commercial exhibitions and business roundtables that will provide attendees with a complete vision of the innovations and trends in the sector and that guarantee commercial benefits for Ecuador as a fruit producing country.
During the three days of conferences, they will analyze fundamental aspects for the performance of the sector on topics related to the effects of the El Niño phenomenon, soil health, as well as the control of diseases such as Fusarium TR4.
On the other hand, this year’s business conference will be presented as a platform designed to facilitate meetings between entrepreneurs, businessmen, investors and institutions.
80 companies will participate in this Banana Time 2023, including producers, exporters, shipping companies, ports, logistics companies and other service companies. In addition, the event will have coverage from national media and between 6 and 8 international media focused on agriculture, such as Portal Fruiticola, Fresh Plaza, Fruit Net, among others.
Ubilla additionally explained the purpose of bringing the press from abroad to this event, “we want to have replicas in these destinations so that the fair can continue to internationalize and next year we can have more buyers from abroad,” the board noted.
