Sabadell joins other banks, such as BBVA or CaixaBank, and launches a personalized 12-month deposit that pays 2.25% APR for certain customer profiles.

The bank is not mass marketing it, however its online account offers a 2% remuneration on the average balance up to 20,000 euros indefinitely, for new clients.

The entity’s strategy to compensate its clients’ savings involves offering other products. In fact, the CEO of Banco Sabadell, César González-Buenostates that deposits “have become obsolete in terms of liquidity and performance.”

«Having a fixed deadline, it completely immobilizes you. On the other hand, there are other products that are liquid that offer more cost effectiveness. What we are all doing is democratizing much more and ensuring that there is much more distributed savings,” he defended.

This is not the only movement in this sense that the entities have made. For example, BBVA also has a 12-month deposit with a 2.75% APR that can be contracted with balances between 5,000 and 500,000 euros that is offered in a personalized way and according to the client’s profile and connection and is not within the usual offer from the bank.

CaixaBank has a 12-month deposit, which can be contracted from 5,000 euros and that pays a minimum of 1%, although it can go up to 2% under conditions, such as the direct debit of a payroll or pension, the contracting of insurance of life, home or health, and hire it from 5,000 euros.

Finally, Bankinter remunerates your Payroll Account with a 5% APR. It also offers up to 1.01% APR on your online account with no minimum balance required and up to 24,999.99 euros, a remuneration that rises to 1.24% for balances between 25,000 and 49,999.99 euros. From 50,000 euros, the profitability is 1.50% APR.
