Banco Santander has appointed the famous golfer Jon Rahm as the new global ambassador of the entity chaired by Ana Botín.
Banco Santander announced this Tuesday, July 18, the signing of a multi-year agreement with Jon Rahm, who was born in Spain, lives in the United States, and has a great global impact, especially in some of Banco Santander’s main markets in America and Europe. The golfer himself announced the agreement at the press conference held today, July 18, during the Open Championship at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club (United Kingdom).
The golfer is 28 years old, and plays an average of 22 tournaments a year in Banco Santander’s main markets around the world. The entity especially wants Rahm to help increase the visibility of his brand in North America, since he plays most of his competition schedule in the United States. Rahm has 19 international wins to his credit in his career, including two notable ones: in 2021 at the US Open at Torrey Pines, and a win at the Augusta Masters earlier this year.
Rahm is currently ranked number three in the World Golf Rankings, after having been number one for 52 weeks. The athlete will wear the Banco Santander logo on the right sleeve of the shirt that he will wear during all competitions from today, and will participate in events and publicity for the entity.
Likewise, the sponsorship represents a commercial opportunity, since Rahm will interact with Banco Santander clients.

I remember playing together in a semi-pro tournament a few years ago and at the end of the round he spent two hours signing autographs for young fans, which shows his qualities as a professional and as a person. For his part, Jon Rahm has stated that “It is an honor to be part of the Santander family and to be its global ambassador. This collaboration joins other global sponsorships of Santander Banksuch as the alliances with Scuderia Ferrari and League of Legends (LOL), which make it possible to take advantage of the entity’s brand value, and communicate the objectives and values of the bank.
