Banco Santander offers its clients in Portugal its tool to measure the carbon footprint

From now on Santander Bank In its app, it offers customers in Portugal the tool so that they can measure their carbon footprint. This functionality has been available in Spain for a year now.

This has been announced by the entity itself chaired by Ana Botinalong with his partner in this initiative, ClimateTrade.

Now, the Portuguese customers of Santander Bank Tips are available for you to cut your environmental impact. With ClimateTrade, they can also offset their emissions by collaborating in different projects that avoid new emissions or absorb those already emitted.

As ClimateTrade has pointed out, “Users can consult the carbon footprint they have been generating on a monthly basis and it will appear broken down by categories (…). Subsequently, they will be offered the possibility to offset their carbon emissions by directly supporting mitigation projects that are essential for the fight against climate change.

Specifically, the compensation offered by the firm associated with Banco Santander in this initiative is focused on three projects in Latin America: a wind farm in Mexico, a reforestation project in Colombia, and a renewable energy plant in Brazil.
