The Banda El Salvador (BES), which has 600 musicians, performed in the heart of the Historic Center of San Salvador to the delight of hundreds of residents and tourists who gathered in front of the National Palace to witness the musical spectacle on July 13.

“Banda El Salvador is a program created on the initiative of President Nayib Bukele and First Lady Gabriela de Bukele through the Ministry of Culture,” said BES Director General Walter Ortiz.

Dressed in their blue and white dress uniforms, the young musicians performed classic and popular pieces such as: “Bajo el almendro”, “El carnaval de San Miguel”, “Las pupusas”, “Thriller”, “Avangers”, “Star Wars”, “Cumbia folclórica”, “Patria querida”, “Fireball”, and “El cumbanchero”, after which a fireworks show was held.

The members of the BES have been and continue to be trained in the 13 departmental headquarters and the central headquarters of the Youth Choirs and Orchestras System of the Ministry of Culture.
