jpnn.com – Chairman of the PAN faction of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Saleh Partaonan Daulay, appreciated and respected the decision of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive Board which is ready to manage the mines provided by the government.

According to Saleh, this was a very independent and autonomous decision, even before deciding, PP Muhammadiyah had conducted an in-depth study and heard input from experts.

“Muhammadiyah is always careful in making decisions, especially since this mining issue has attracted public attention. However, usually, once a decision has been made, it will be carried out well and responsibly,” said Saleh when confirmed, Tuesday (30/7).

The DPR member for Electoral District 2 of North Sumatra considered it very reasonable for PP Muhammadiyah to accept mining concessions. Muhammadiyah is a religious organization that has fought for this nation since the colonial era.

Saleh said Muhammadiyah’s experience in serving the people is not in doubt. It is proven, Muhammadiyah has managed thousands of schools, hundreds of universities, hospitals, baitul mal, and other charitable efforts, as well as thousands of mosques, all of which are very beneficial to the community.

“It is a bit strange if there are people who doubt Muhammadiyah’s capabilities. With so many universities, Muhammadiyah has experts from various disciplines. Many of them also have educational backgrounds abroad,” he said.

If Muhammadiyah is trusted to manage the mine, Saleh said, then the one who manages it is the organization, not individuals for personal interests. The benefits that will be obtained will certainly be for the people and society.

“I am a Muhammadiyah cadre. I understand very well how the rules for managing charitable efforts in Muhammadiyah,” said the former General Chairperson of the PP Pemuda Muhammadiyah.
