Bangladesh ‘A’ team surrendered helpless in the first fifty overs against Pakistan Shaheens. Pakistan Shaheens won the match by 8 wickets at Islamabad Club Cricket Oval Ground.

After losing the toss, the Bangladesh ‘A’ team was bowled out for 183 runs. In reply, Pakistan Shaheens reached the target losing 2 wickets in 27.5 overs. The team representing Bangladesh suffered a big defeat due to batting failure.

Saif Hasan scored 58 and Rishad Hossain scored 40 runs. None of the rest could cross the twenties. Opener Naeem Sheikh 6, Soumya Sarkar returned to the dressing room with 9 runs. Captain Tawheed Hridoy could not score more than 13 runs. Zaker Ali 5, Mosaddek Hossain 1, Mahedi Hasan scored 12 runs in the middle order.

40 runs came from the bat of Nay Nama Rishad where the established batsmen did not get runs. Rishad decorated the innings with 4 fours and 2 sixes off 38 balls. Saif scored 58 runs off 47 balls hitting 10 fours and 1 six. In the end, Bangladesh ‘A’ team’s innings stopped at 183 runs.

Pacer Abbas Afridi took 5 wickets for 38 runs with the ball. Jahandad Khan and Mehran Mumtaz got 2 wickets each.

In pursuit of the target, Abdul Fasih departed for 1 run, but Hasibullah and Usman made a partnership of 129 runs for the second wicket. That made the match easy for Pakistan Shaheens. Usman scored 87 runs off 60 balls with 8 fours and 5 sixes.

Although Usman could not leave the field with the victory, Hasebullah remained undefeated till the end. Scored 73 runs off 81 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes. Mahedi Hasan and Mosaddek Hossain took one wicket each for Bangladesh ‘A’ team.

A day later, the two teams will play a second fifty-over match at the same ground.
