The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has canceled the practice of the national cricket team on Sunday (August 04, 2024) due to the non-cooperation movement called by the students. A reliable source in BCB’s cricket management department has confirmed this news to RisingBD. He said that the practice was canceled due to the security of the cricketers and coaches.

Besides, there are many cricketers outside Dhaka. They could not come to Dhaka today. That’s why the practice has been canceled only tomorrow.

All the foreign coaching staff of the national team have come to Bangladesh. Head coach Chandika Hathurusinghe arrived in Dhaka on Thursday. Earlier David Hamp, Andre Adams came to Bangladesh. Assistant coach Nick Pothus arrived last Saturday night.

The intensive training of the cricketers was scheduled to begin tomorrow, August 4, ahead of the two Tests in Pakistan. Among these, several cricketers will go to Pakistan to play a four-day match for the ‘A’ team. Bangladesh will play two Tests of the ICC Test Championship in Pakistan. The first Test will be held in Rawalpindi from August 21 to August 25. And the second and last Test will be held in Karachi from August 30 to September 3.

Earlier, Bangladesh went to play a Test in Pakistan in 2020. Bangladesh’s success in 13 Tests so far against Pakistan is only one draw. The test draw was held in Khulna in 2015.
