Dhaka: Since Sheikh Hasina resigned and⁤ left Bangladesh, a wave of persecution has swept⁤ across the nation.‌ Bangladeshi media outlets are reporting widespread attacks on Hindu homes and temples across the ⁤country. These reports have elicited ⁤joy among many⁤ radical Muslims worldwide, with some ‌even anticipating a ‌genocide of Hindus in⁢ Bangladesh.

Abu Najm Fernando bin Al-Iskander, who identifies as an Islamic scholar, has taken to social media to advocate ‌for the complete annihilation of the Hindu population in Bangladesh. Citing Islamic jurisprudence, he has stated‍ that Hindus have only two‍ options: embrace‌ death‍ or conversion to Islam.

Hindus‍ Have Two Options

Al-Iskander, who describes himself as a ⁢PhD student, further elaborated on⁤ his hateful rhetoric, writing, “I am relieved to know that three out of four schools of⁣ Islamic jurisprudence agree that Hindus should ⁢have only two options. First, the ‍sword. Second, to embrace Islam.” ‍He‌ also expressed disdain for Hindus, claiming they should be grateful ‍that ⁤they are currently subjected to the Hanafi school of ⁣Islamic law, rather than other schools.

The Rise of Violence Against Hindus

Citing the Hanbali school of Islamic ‍law, prevalent in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, Al-Iskander argued that Muslims should visibly ⁢distinguish themselves from non-Muslims by⁣ shaving the hair ⁢on the front ⁢of their heads. He used this argument to justify ⁤treating non-Muslims with disrespect, ⁣claiming they are inferior.

Despite attempting to⁣ portray himself as a liberal, Al-Iskander condemned only those Hindus who ‌resist ‌assimilation into Muslim societies. He labelled the persecution‍ of minorities in Bangladesh‍ as a Hindu propaganda tactic and expressed his hope for Bangladesh ⁤to be free from Hindu influence and interference.
