The northeastern parts of Bangladesh have been experiencing continuous heavy rains for the past one week, due to which various districts are reeling under floods. Although rains and floods are common in Bangladesh every year during the monsoons, it is now raining more than in the past. Due to this, the country has faced the worst flood in the last 122 years. Electricity was cut off in most areas due to rain and floods. Roads were inundated and vehicular traffic was paralyzed and the normal life of people was affected. In this case, from last May 17th to July 3rd, the number of deaths due to rain-related damage has increased to 102. Officials said that around 40 lakh people have been severely affected by the heavy rains and said that rescue operations are being carried out in full swing in the rain and flood affected areas.
